Safe equipment

  1. butter knife– a table knife designed with a dull edge and rounded point
  2. strainer– is a filter that separates solids while liquids or smaller pieces pass through
  3. serving platters– dishware used to serve food on
  4. dipping bowls-small rounded bowls with open top that are used for sauces, spreads, or dressings that go with the food you’re serving
  5. mixing bowls-rounded bowls that are open at the top and used for blending ingredients or serving foods in
  6. cutting board– a wooden or plastic board where food items can be cut and prepared
  7. paper towels– very absorbent tissue paper that is used for wiping and drying
  8. plastic wrap– very thin see through sheet of plastic that clings
  9. zip lock bags– see through plastic bags that seal by joining strips along the edges of the opening
  10. measuring spoons– a set of spoons marked with a specific size used to measure dry or liquid ingredients when cooking
  11. measuring cups– cups used to measure liquids or dry ingredients.  Usually has a specific size marked on it
  12. whisk– a stainless steel utensil with coiled wires that look like a balloon, that is used for beating eggs, cream and other ingredients
  13. plastic spoons– a plastic bowl shaped container with handle used to serve, stir or lift up food
  14. fork– a utensil with two or more prongs used for eating for serving food
  15. scrap bowl– a rounded bowl with an open top used to throw scraps unused items in such as wrappers, containers, vegetable or fruit skins, seeds, etc.
  16. spatula– a utensil with a flexible blade used to mix, spread or lift material
  17. small mesh strainer– a small filter that has finer holes that separates wanted elements from unwanted materials
  18. spoon– a bowl shaped utensil used to serve, stir or lift up food
  19. grater– made of metal or plastic with sharp edges that are used to reduce hard foods to small particles or long, thin strips
  20. cookie cutters- a metal or plastic device used to cut decorative shapes out of dough
  21. ice cream scoop– a utensil used to remove ice cream from a carton or container and form into a ball or oval shape
  22. ramekins– an individual baking dish 3-4 inches in diameter
  23. tongs– A grasping device consisting of two arms that are joined, often at one end, as by a pivot or a scissorlike hinge.
  24. blunt tip scissors– an edge tool having two crossed pivoting blades with a blunt tip
  25. sheet pans– flat rectangular metal pans used in the oven
  26. bench scraper– a tool used by bakers to manipulate dough and to clean surfaces on which dough has been worked
  27. pop molds- A hollow form shaped into a popsicle to freeze liquids
  28. ladle– A long-handled spoon with a deep bowl for serving liquids
  29. wax paper– paper that has been waterproofed by treatment with wax
  30. straw– a thin paper or plastic tube used to suck liquids into the mouth

  36. clogs- a type of footwear that has closed toes and open backs that protect your feet from sharp & heavy objects in a kitchen
  37. dish towel– a towel used for drying dishes, utensil and kitchen equipment

  1. chef knife – a cutting tool used for food preparation
  2. pot– a metal cooking vessel that is usually round and deep; often has a handle and lid
  3. blender-an electrically powered mixer with whirling blades that mix or chop or liquefy foods
  4. pasta machine– roller device designed for making noodles
  5. 9×13 baking dish–  a shallow platter made of ceramic material used to bake
  6. 8 inch round pie pans- a cake pan that is used to bake a variety of things
  7. double boiler- two saucepans, one fitting inside the other
